John received a BA in Finance from the University of Texas in Austin and a MA in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary. After studying Family and Marriage Therapy at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX, John earned a MA in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. John is a trained therapist in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy through Behavioral Tech, as well as in EMDR and Prepare/Enrichment. He is passionate about helping individuals overcome depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

Before joining the Restoration team of Counselors, John served 28 years as a local pastor in the DFW area. Having raised three grown daughters with his wife of 33 years, John has a passion for helping marriages and families grow in maturity and unity. With a comprehensive biblical lens, he considers it an honor and privilege to walk alongside you on your journey to healing and wholeness. Through relational focused therapy, John seeks to create a safe environment so that you can take an honest look at your life and circumstances.
