Laena received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Texas Christian University and her Masters in Professional Counseling at Dallas Baptist University. She has experience working in private practice, university counseling, and church settings where she had the opportunity to work with clients struggling with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, relational conflict, and low self-esteem.

At Restoration, Laena provides individual counseling primarily for adolescent and young adult women with a focus in the area of body image and eating disorders. Her goal in therapy is to walk alongside clients through past and present difficulties in order to help them experience growth, healing, and freedom.

Laena also works as a Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills trainer at Restoration. This allows her to teach individuals skills in the areas of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. She believes these skills can equip individuals with the tools necessary to live a confident, enjoyable, and balanced life.
