Personal Experience & Biography
Dr. Geoffrey Weckel, PsyD, earned his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and holds Masters’ Degrees in Marriage and Family Counseling, Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Clinical Psychology from Argosy University.
A Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Professional Counselor, Dr. Weckel has been offering counseling services in Dallas-Fort Worth since 1998 in various settings. He has been extensively trained and supervised in a variety of counseling approaches, including: Motivational Interviewing, Multisystemic Therapy (MST), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radical Openness – Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Behavioral Analysis of System Psychotherapy (CBASP). In addition, he has post-graduate training in Brainspotting, Sports Psychology, Nutrient Psychology, Neurofeedback, and Biofeedback.
At Restoration, he conducts psychological assessments for a wide variety of challenges, including attention-deficit/hyperactivity, personality, mood and anxiety disorders, neuropsychological, psycho-education, in addition to aptitude and vocational direction. He assesses both children (aged 7 and up) and adults.
In addition to assessments, he provides individual, couple, and family counseling at Restoration. Dr. Weckel aims to help clients lead fulfilling lives by improving their relationships with God, themselves, and others. His relaxed approach and dry sense of humor create a comfortable setting for those looking to manage anxiety, overcome addictions, and strengthen family bonds.
